Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

San Antonio – Trinity's women's tennis team will make its first NCAA Playoff appearance in four years on Saturday, May 12, facing either Pomona-Pitzer or UT-Tyler at 3:00 p.m. in the second round.

The Tigers posted a record of 18-7 on the season, winning the team's first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship since 2006.  Also in Trinity's section of the bracket will be UC-Santa Cruz, Whitman, and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.  Claremont is the host for the first three rounds of play, and will face either UCSC or Whitman in round two.  The winner of the Trinity and Claremont matches will play on Sunday, May 13.

The winner of each third round match will advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals, which will be held at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina, on May 21.  The Semifinals and Finals will follow on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Following the team tournament, the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships will be held at Cary.

First-year Mackenzie Knoop is one of three All-SCAC players for the Tigers this season, and Knoop was also the SCAC Player of the Year.  She won the ITA Regional Singles and Doubles Championships this past fall, which will earn her All-America honors at the end of the season.  All-American Thavindra Ekanayake – Knoop's doubles partner during the spring season – and Kylie Hornbeck were also named All-SCAC.

Trinity is led by Head Coach Russell McMindes, who is in his first season with the Tiger women's team.  Coach McMindes has been the men's head coach for the past three seasons, but took over the women's program starting this school year.
