Box Score 2 San Antonio - The Tiger women's tennis
team lost an 8-1 decision to Division II's St. Mary's University on
Thursday afternoon.
Trinity was swept in all three doubles matches to start the
afternoon, falling behind 3-0 heading into singles play. St.
Mary's then went on to win five of the six singles contests,
falling only in No. 5 singles.
Mackenzie Knoop and Thavindra Ekanayake lost 8-3 at No. 1
doubles, as did Kristy Hamilton and Stephanie Williamson at No. 3
doubles. Caroline White and Kylie Hornbeck lost 8-2 at the
second position.
Each of the singles matches was won in straight sets, with
Hamilton earning Trinity's lone point with a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 4
singles.
Trinity returns to action against another Division II opponent
tomorrow, facing off against St. Edward's University in Austin,
Texas, at 1:00 p.m.
