Northridge, California - The No. 13 Tiger
women's tennis team lost for the sixth consecutive time on Monday
afternoon, falling in a 6-3 match against 10th-ranked Bowdoin
College.
Trinity fell to 3-11 on the season with the loss, and has not
won since upsetting nationally-ranked Washington & Lee on March
1. The Tigers actually took a 2-1 lead after doubles, but
managed just one win in singles play.
Mackenzie Knoop and Thavindra Ekanayake took an 8-6 win at No. 1
doubles, while Kristy Hamilton and Stephanie Williamson won by the
same score at the third position.
Ekanayake survived for a 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 at No. 2 singles for the
team's lone singles point. Caroline White fell just short in
a 6-3, 3-6, 2-6 loss at No. 5 singles.
Trinity will finish off its California road trip with a neutral
match against Whitman College tomorrow. The match begins at
9:00 a.m. (PDT).
