San Antonio - Trinity Tigers first-year student-athlete Liza Southwick has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

Southwick has posted a 2-3 record in singles play, and is 3-2 in doubles competition. She recently moved up to the top slots of both singles and doubles. Southwick is 1-1 in singles and doubles on the Tigers top line, including wins over the NCAA Division III University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

The Tigers (2-3) claimed a 9-0 home victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor last week. Trinity opened the season by defeating the Division II University of Texas-Permian Basin 7-2 at the ACU Indoors at Abilene, Texas.

Trinity will open a California trip March 7 at the University of Redlands.
