San Antonio - The Tiger women's tennis team began its 2014 season by hosting four other teams at the Trinity Invitational Tournament.

The matches were interrupted by rain throughout the day, which prevented any of the doubles matches from being played.  The five flights of singles action saw several strong performances from the Tigers, though.

In Flight Three, Kristy Hamilton was not able to hang on after taking the opening set, but Gabrielle Roe took a tough 7-6 (9-7), 0-6, 13-11 win to reach the Semifinals.

Blaire Porter advanced in Flight Two Singles, winning 7-5, 6-4, and will face Rafaela Haegele tomorrow morning.  In Flight Five Singles, Elena Wilson reached the finals with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) win over Edna Mendoza.  Nicole Rueb also reached the Flight Four semis with a default victory.

Weather permitting, the singles and doubles flights will all wrap up tomorrow.
