Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

San Antonio - The Trinity women's tennis program has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team. Additionally, Liza Southwick, Gabrielle Roe, Elena Wilson, and Nicole Rueb were designated as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is presented to squads which amass a grade point average of 3.20 or above on a 4.0 scale. ITA Scholar-Athletes attain the recognition by having a GPA of at least 3.50, and win a varsity letter.

Southwick completed her sophomore year and is majoring in marketing. She is also a member of Trinity's Dean's List. Southwick earned All-America honors in doubles, with Marie Lutz, by winning the ITA Regional Doubles title last fall. The Trinity tandem went on to finish in fifth place at the ITA National Small College Championships. Southwick and Lutz also qualified for the NCAA Division III Doubles Championship last May. Southwick was elected to the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Team, and to the SCAC All-Tournament Team.

Roe finished her junior year and majors in accounting, and has earned Trinity Dean's List honors. She received All-SCAC accolades for the third straight time, and made the conference All-Tournament Team. Roe also was elected to the SCAC All-Sportsmanship Team for the third occasion.

Wilson is an international studies major and has completed her sophomore year at Trinity. During the season, Wilson was selected as the SCAC Character and Community Athlete of the Week. She also has been a Dean's List honoree. Rueb has just begun her Trinity career and has not declared a major. But the Tiger newcomer made her mark on the courts with a 6-3 singles record.

The Tigers are led by head Coach Gretchen Rush, who completed her first year at the helm. Trinity won a fourth consecutive SCAC Championship, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship. The Tigers finished up with an 11-9 dual-match record, and were 10-3 against Division III opponents. The ITA ranked Trinity as the No. 32 team in the nation.
