Irving, Texas - The fifth-ranked Tiger women's soccer team opened its weekend road trip with a 3-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over the University of Dallas on Friday afternoon.
Trinity improved to 4-0-1 overall, and 2-0-0 in SCAC play. Dallas dropped to 1-6-0 and 0-1-1 in the conference.
Jordan Leeper put the Tigers on the board early in the matchup, scoring in the fifth minute of play. It marked her second goal of the season, as well as her second game-winner. Emily Donnan supplied the assist.
Trinity did not put together another scoring play until the 68th minute, when Julia Camp fired in her second goal of the campaign, assisted by Colleen Markey. Seven minutes later, Camp assisted Brigitte Taylor for the third goal of the afternoon to cap the scoring.
Janie Thompson guarded the goal for the first half and recorded two saves. Thompson was relieved in the second half by Dana McLaughlin, and Kalli Douma had goalkeeping duties for the final 13 minutes.
Up next for the Tigers will be a Sunday game at top-ranked Lynchburg College, which is also the defending NCAA Division III National Champion. The game is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
