San Antonio - The second-ranked Tiger women's soccer team posted its third straight shutout with a 3-0 non-conference victory over the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday night.
Hannah Hommel lit up the board for the Tigers in the 10th minute of play, scoring her second game-winner of the season. Brigitte Taylor supplied her team-leading third assist of the campaign. Julia Camp scored her team-best third goal of the season, with a solo shot in the 18th minute.
Camp and Allison Carter combined for the assists in the 79th minute, as first-year Chelsea Cole netted her first career goal to put the game out of reach.
Jane Thompson was the starting keeper for the entire first half, accounting for three saves to earn the victory. Thompson was relieved by Dana McLaughlin and Kalli Douma in the second half, with McLaughlin recording a save in just under 26 minutes, and Douma chalking up a pair of saves in the final minutes.
Trinity (6-0-1) also recorded its 400th victory in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference era, which began in 1991. The Tigers stand at 400-61-28 in the time period. Trinity is also fresh off a win over defending NCAA Division III champion Lynchburg College over the weekend in Virginia.
The Tigers resume their SCAC schedule this weekend, starting with Centenary College on Friday at 6:00 p.m. Friday. Austin College will visit campus for a game at noon on Sunday.
