San Antonio - Tiger sophomore Marie Lutz has been chosen as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

Trinity was beaten 6-3 by Division II St. Edward's (TX) University in the only match of the week for the Tigers, but Lutz scored wins in both singles and doubles.  Lutz teamed up with doubles partner Caroline Kutach for an 8-3 victory in doubles, improving to 3-0 this season with the top-line win.

In singles, Lutz grabbed her first win at No. 1 singles this season with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 victory, though it was the only singles win for the Tigers.  

Next up for Trinity will be a pair of matches in Georgetown, Texas, on Saturday, March 5.  The Tigers will take on hosting Southwestern University to start the day, then face Hardin-Simmons (TX) University in a neutral-site matchup.  Trinity returns home Wednesday, March 9, against Rhodes (TN) College.
