Box Score San Antonio - Trinity volleyball continued its climb in the rankings, as the Tigers are now the #3 team in the nation according to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Poll.
Led by 33rd-year Head Coach Julie Jenkins, Trinity last held the #3 ranking in November of 2007. The Tigers spent four weeks ranked third nationally, and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
This season, Trinity stands at 16-3 overall, and is 6-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Since being ranked 14th in the the first AVCA ranking this season, the Tigers have risen each week in the national poll. Trinity can claim six victories over ranked teams this year.
Last week, Trinity went 3-1 at the SCAC Cross-Divisional in Seguin, Texas. The Tigers defeated Austin (TX) College, Centenary (LA) College, and the University of Dallas (TX), while losing only to second-ranked Colorado College.
The Tigers head to Belton, Texas, for two matches on Friday. First up is a pairing with Sul Ross State (TX) University, followed by match with the host University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
