Four Trinity Volleyball Players Earn CSC Academic Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The fourth-ranked Trinity University volleyball team had four players selected for the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team.

The Tigers finished the fall season with a 26-6 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Semifinals, reaching the final site for the fourth time in the last five years. Trinity won the Southern Athletic Association Regular Season Championship in its first season in the league but fell short in the SAA Tournament Final.

Senior Reagan Whatley (The Woodlands, Texas / The Woodlands) was joined by juniors Lauren McCarthy (Corrales, N.M. / Horizon) and Courtney Pope (New Braunfels, Texas / Canyon), along with sophomore Taylor Starr (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) as this year's CSC honorees. It marks the first Academic All-District® award for McCarthy and Starr, while Pope and Whatley have both previously received the honor.

Whatley was named a First Team All-American and All-Region player by the American Volleyball Coaches Association this year, while also earning the SAA Offensive Athlete of the Year award and All-SAA First Team accolades. This is her third Academic All-District® award and she has also been named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll each of the last three years. Pope joined Whatley on the All-SAA First Team this season after earning Second Team All-SCAC honors last year. Pope is also a two-time AVCA All-Region First Team player who has also earned Honorable Mention All-American recognition from the AVCA each of the past two years.

McCarthy and Starr were key to Trinity finishing fifth nationally in blocks/set this season as each player recorded more than 100 blocks in 2025. Starr was named the SCAC Freshman of the Year in 2024 and was also on the SCAC Honor Roll. McCarthy earned Second Team All-SAA honors this year and earned a spot on the SCAC Honor Roll each of the past two years, finishing in the top five in Division III in both blocks/set and total blocks in 2025.
