GREENWOOD, Ind. – Trinity University volleyball senior
Reagan Whatley (The Woodlands, Texas / The Woodlands) has been selected as a Second Team Academic All-American® by the College Sports Communicators for the 2025 season.
Whatley is the second Trinity student-athlete to receive the award this year and is the 74th recipient in school history, dating back to the 1980-81 school year. She is also the first Tiger volleyball player to earn the award. Whatley helped Trinity to a 26-6 overall record this season, winning the Southern Athletic Association Regular Season Championship and advancing to the NCAA Semifinals for the fifth time in school history.
This distinction recognizes student-athletes whose academic excellence ranks among the top in their sport nationwide. The 2025 Academic All-America® women's volleyball teams include 77 honorees across NCAA Divisions I, II, III, and NAIA with a combined GPA of 3.89.
Whatley was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association First Team All-American and First Team All-Region player, as well as being the SAA Athlete of the Year and First Team All-SAA performer. She was named to four All-Tournament teams during the season, including the NCAA Cambridge Regional and the NCAA Championships.
