San Antonio - Trinity's Caroline Kutach has been tabbed as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week.

The Tiger junior sported a 3-0 record last week in the top singles position, as 16th-ranked Trinity went 1-2 against NCAA Division III teams in Ohio. The weekend started off with a loss to #18 Case Western Reserve (OH) University, followed the next day by a win over Denison (OH) University. Ninth-ranked University of Chicago (IL) beat the Tigers on the final day of the trip.

Kutach fought her way to a three-set victory over her Case Western opponent, taking the final two stanzas. She also captured three-set wins over Denison and Chicago.

This season, Kutach stands at 4-1 in #1 singles competition. Her only loss came against St. Mary's (TX) University, who is ranked eighth in the NCAA Division II.

Trinity (1-4) will host DII member St. Edward's (TX) University at 4:00 p.m. Friday.
