Trinity University Tennis Alumni Reunion

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Trinity has produced NCAA champions, Wimbledon champs, All-Americans, and a large number of extremely talented players. In keeping with the tradition, the Trinity University Tennis Alumni Reunion, for players from 1950-2017, will be held April 6-8. Everyone is welcome, though, and registration is required.

The opening event starts at noon Friday with a "scramble" at the historic Brackenridge Park Golf Course.  A welcome party is slated for Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the Hotel Indigo, located on San Antonio's River Walk. Participants can then enjoy dinner on their own that evening.

Saturday's action starts at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity's Butch Newman Tennis Center with alumni matches or pickleball. An "authentic" Texas barbecue gets under way at noon at Meadows Pavilion. Professor Emeritus R. Douglas Brackenridge will present a brief history of Trinity at 1:00 p.m. in the Herndon, located inside the William H. Bell Athletic Center.

Folks can ride a river taxi at 5:00 p.m. Saturday from Hotel Indigo to Pearl, where a cocktail party is set for Hotel Emma at Pearl. From 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., there will be a creative and savory dinner at the Culinary Institute of America. Catch a ride in a Trinity van from 9:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. from Pearl to Hotel Indigo.

Sunday morning at 9, enjoy a continental breakfast at Hotel Indigo. Then, head to the Al G. Hill Jr. Tennis Stadium, Trinity's "upper courts," as the 20th-ranked Tiger women's tennis team takes on the University of Texas-Dallas at 1:00 p.m. The head coach of Trinity is former top-ranked pro and Tiger All-American Gretchen Rush '86.

Deadlines for registration are rapidly approaching. Visit Trinity's Alumni website to register. Click on the following link: https://events.trinity.edu/event/tennis_reunion#.WsPMR1WnG1s. A total of 165 people have signed up for this exciting and fun weekend!
