San Antonio - Trinity senior Chelsea Cole and sophomore Lilah Bevins received the honors of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
The two Tigers sparked Trinity to three conference victories last week. Trinity defeated Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas, and then beat Austin (TX) College and Centenary (LA) College in home matchups.
Cole scored five goals over the week's action with four coming in the lopsided 9-0 win over Austin College. Her quadruple goals tied a school record, as she became the seventh player in Trinity women's soccer history to achieve that feat. Cole also scored a second-half goal in the Centenary game.
The Tiger forward leads the team with six goals and two game-winners this season. Cole has chalked up 37 goals in her career and is now tied for 10th place in Trinity's record books.
Bevins and the Tiger defense yielded just six total shots in the three games, including two against Centenary. Trinity has posted three consecutive shutouts and five overall this season. Opponents have scored only two goals over six games during the campaign.
Trinity stands at 4-1-1 overall and is 3-0-0 in the SCAC competition. This Sunday, Trinity will host conference newcomer Johnson & Wales (CO) University in a 2:00 p.m. pairing.
