San Antonio - The 12th-ranked Trinity women's soccer team claimed a 1-0 second overtime victory over the University of Puget Sound (WA) Sunday afternoon.
GAME SUMMARY
Chelsea Cole scored Trinity's first goal of the season, with an assist from Katie Peth in the 102nd minute of action.
The Tigers fired in six shots on goal in the first half, but could not find the mark. Trinity's best chance to score was on a penalty kick by Cole in the 58th minute, but the Loggers goalkeeper saved the attempt.
NOTABLES
The Tigers picked up their first win of the campaign and now stand at 1-0-1. Trinity and Pacific Lutheran (WA) University played to a 0-0 double-overtime draw on Friday night, in the season-opener for both teams.
Puget Sound dropped to 0-2-0 after Sunday's loss.
Chelsea Cole recorded her 32nd career goal and a ninth game-winner. Cole recorded seven total shots and four on goal in Sunday's game.
Katie Peth picked posted her eighth career assist, along with posting three shots on goal against Puget Sound.
First-year goalkeeper Tara Lujan started her first game as a Trinity Tiger, and made two second-half saves in the matchup.
Trinity outshot the Loggers 26-8 and led 14-2 in shots on the mark.

Trinity will host fourth-ranked Hardin-Simmons (TX) University at 8:00 p.m. next Friday. The game will be a rematch of last season's NCAA Division III second round, when the Cowgirls edged the Tigers 3-2.
