Box Score 2 San Antonio - The 19th-ranked Trinity women's tennis team has been seeded #1 at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament this Friday through Sunday hosted by Austin (TX) College in Sherman, Texas.
The Tigers stand at 11-6 this season and have earned a bye to the semifinals and will open play in the seven-team event at 9:00 a.m. CDT on Saturday. The Tigers take on the winner of Friday's match between fourth-seeded Schreiner (TX) University and fifth-seeded Colorado College. The championship match is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Sunday.
Second-seeded Southwestern (TX) University plays seventh-seeded Centenary (LA) College, while the third-seeded host Austin (TX) meets six-seeded Texas Lutheran University in other first-round matchups.
The conference champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, with selections slated for May 6.
Led by fifth-year Head Coach Gretchen Rush, the Tigers won their seventh straight SCAC Championship and 22nd overall with a 5-0 victory last year over Southwestern at Colorado Springs, Colorado.
