Box Score San Antonio - The Trinity women's tennis team received final national and regional rankings from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
The Tigers were ranked 18th nationally in the ITA NCAA Division III final poll and fourth in the West Region, after posting a 13-7 overall record. Led by fifth-year Head Coach Gretchen Rush, Trinity competed in its eighth NCAA Tournament in a row and the 23rd overall. The Tigers received a bye to the NCAA second round and lost to fifth-ranked Pomona-Pitzer (CA) Colleges.
Senior Caroline Kutach was ranked #42 in ITA national singles and 10th in the West Region, after posting a 12-5 dual-match record. Juniors Zoe Kaffen and Mary Kaffen were ranked sixth in West Region doubles with a 10-9 mark. Junior Ashley DeBauge held a #12 Regional singles ranking, after chalking up a 10-6 record. Zoe Kaffen was ranked 15th (10-5 record) and Mary Kaffen was 24th (8-2 mark).
Prior to the NCAA appearance, the Tigers won their eighth consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship. Coach Rush was named the SCAC Coach of the Year for the second time in her tenure. Kutach was named SCAC Player of the Year for the second time in a row. First-year Hailey Feuer became Trinity's first SCAC Newcomer of the Year. Feuer finished her first year as a Trinity Tiger with a 9-4 singles record.
