Trinity Women's Tennis Ranked 18th in Preseason Poll

San Antonio - The Trinity women's tennis team has been ranked 18th by the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Preseason Poll.

Led by sixth-year Head Coach Gretchen Rush, the Tigers also are ranked fourth in the West Region. Last season, Trinity competed in its eighth consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament and the 23rd overall. The Tigers received a bye to the Second Round and finished the campaign with a 13-7 dual-match record. The ITA posted a final Trinity ranking of 18th in the nation.

Prior to the NCAAs, Trinity won its eighth Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) title in a row and the 23rd overall. Coach Rush earned SCAC Tennis Coach of the Year honors for the second time during her tenure. 

Seniors Zoe Kaffen and Mary Kaffen won the ITA Southwest Region Singles Championship in September 2019. The two All-Americans advanced to the Quarterfinals of the ITA Cup.

The Tigers open their 2020 spring season January 25 at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, a member of the NCAA Division I.
