Box Score McMinnville, Oregon - The 18th-ranked Trinity women's tennis team was edged 5-4 Saturday by #33 Linfield (OR) College in an NCAA Division III matchup.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Tigers stand at 2-4 overall and are 2-1 against Division III opponents. Linfield improved to 2-2 with the win.
Trinity lost all three doubles matches, starting with the third line as Ashley DeBauge and Paulina Garcia fell 8-3.
Zoe Kaffen and Megan Flores came up short 8-5 on the top line, while Mary Kaffen and Francesca Canjar lost a tight 8-7 matchup in #2 doubles.
The Tigers bounced back and tied the score at 4-4.
The rally started as Flores took the third singles match, and Zoe Kaffen won the top line.
Nicole Markiewicz lost #5 singles, and DeBauge won a three-setter on the second line.
Mary Kaffen evened the dual match by winning #6 singles. The clincher for Linfield came in the fourth match as Canjar lost 3-6 in the third set.
Mary Kaffen improved her singles record to 3-1, while DeBauge evened her mark to 3-3.
