Box Score Portland, Oregon - The 18th-ranked Trinity women's tennis team lost 6-3 to Whitman (WA) College Sunday as the Tigers concluded their Pacific Northwest trip.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Tigers stand at 2-5 overall and are 2-2 against NCAA Division III opponents. Whitman improved to 5-2 with the win.
Whitman took an early lead by winning all three doubles by scores of 8-6.
Zoe Kaffen and Mary Kaffen played the top line, Megan Flores and Ashley DeBauge were on the court for the second matchup, and Francesca Canjar and Paulina Garcia were the #3 doubles team.
DeBauge lost #1 singles and Canjar dropped the third matchup, as Whitman clinched the dual match.
Flores battled to win her fourth line match 7-5, 7-5 as Trinity got on the board. The tightest singles match was the #2 pairing. Zoe Kaffen won the first set 6-4, lost the second 2-6, and came up short 6-10 in the third.
Mary Kaffen took the fifth in match in straight sets. The last match on the court was #6 singles, which Nicole Markiewicz won 7-5, 6-2.
Mary Kaffen has chalked up a 4-1 singles record, Flores is 3-2, and Markiewicz evened her mark at 3-3.
