San Antonio - The Trinity women's tennis team made a clean sweep of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Singles and Doubles Players of the Week accolades.

First-year Nicole Markiewicz was tabbed as the SCAC Singles Player of the Week, while senior Francesca Canjar and junior Paulina Garcia were named SCAC Doubles Team of the Week. All of the players contributed to 31st-ranked Trinity's 9-0 victories last weekend over East Texas Baptist University and Schreiner (TX) University in San Marcos, Texas.

Markiewicz won a battle at #6 singles against East Texas Baptist. She lost the first set 5-7, rallied to take the second 6-4, and prevailed 10-1 in the tiebreaker. Markiewicz then proceeded to defeat her Schreiner opponent 6-0, 6-0 on the fifth line. This season, Markiewicz has chalked up a 7-3 singles record.

Canjar and Garcia were victorious at line three of doubles against East Texas Baptist and Schreiner, and the duo stands at 2-1 as a doubles team.

Trinity has amassed a 6-5 overall record with a 6-2 mark against NCAA Division III opponents. The Tigers head to Fredericksburg, Virginia, Friday for three matches. First up is Colby (ME) College on Friday. Trinity takes on 15th-ranked host University of Mary Washington (VA) Saturday and concludes with #11 Tufts (MA) University Sunday.
