San Antonio - Trinity Head Coach Dylan Harrison has announced seven new players that will join the Tiger women's soccer team for the 2020-21 school year.
The 2019 season ended with Trinity sporting a 17-4-1 overall record. The Tigers won the SCAC Regular Season Championship and advanced to the programs 24th overall NCAA Playoffs appearance where they made it to the Round of 16.
Coach Harrison on this year's recruiting class: "Each year we try to identify and meet the needs of what we believe will help us continue to be one of the top programs in the country. We have decided for the next few years we are searching for players who are as tough as they are technical. With this recruiting class, we have proven we can do just that with the Universities ability to attract students from all over the country. We are very excited to welcome this class to what is already an impressive returning team. I'm confident our team will do what is needed during this time where self motivation is the biggest driver of our future success. You will be able to see our work pay off when the TNT Tigers get back on the field."

Why I Chose Trinity: I chose Trinity University because of its incredible academics and competitive athletics. I also enjoy the beautiful campus and city. Trinity gives me the best opportunity to pursue my goals in both academics and athletics. The inviting atmosphere will help shape my future into something incredible.
What I am most excited about: I am excited about the learning opportunities that Trinity has to offer, the incredible campus, and living in a new city. I feel so fortunate that I'm able to continue playing soccer, the game I love, with amazing players at a great school. I look forward to new experiences, creating lasting relationships, and growing as an individual. I am thrilled to be a part of such a skilled program and becoming an all-around better player.
Coach Harrison: "Tedi is an exciting attacking player who can stretch teams with her overall speed. Tedi has the composure to finish even when she has extra time on the ball created by her quickness. We will count on Tedi to give us that shot of energy and the ability to strike fear in other teams' defenders. As a teammate of Joey and Kyra we expect the three of them to share a sense of comfort on the field that will allow them to hit the ground running when they arrive in August."

What I am most excited about: I'm excited for the new experience!
Coach Harrison: "Joey comes in to make us very competitive at the goalkeeping position. Like other positions on the field, we try to identify players who bring something different. As a taller GK Joey gives us a different look in regards to dealing with set pieces and shot stopping. Joey has impressed Coach Spencer since the first time she watched her and after attending our camp, I shared the same feeling. The highest compliment I feel you can give a GK is how much you trust them back there, and there is no doubt we trust Joey with our team's success."

What I am most excited about: I am most excited to learn all I can academically and grow as a person morally, ethically, and socially. Additionally, I am excited to play for a great team and coach because of the dedication and ability that the team has. I know Trinity will make me a better person and player.
Coach Harrison: "We always talk about being able to relate to recruits and team members. The first time I watched Emily, I knew this was exactly what we had in place. At a major recruiting tournament Emily had what I thought to be at least 20 family members wearing matching shirts cheering her on. As someone whose family did the same thing with hats when I was I kid, I like to believe only special players get this type of fan treatment. Just like her family, Emily is all in on the field as well. She is ready to fight, scrape and create to make a positive impact for her team. We can't wait to see her do exactly that in the Trinity jersey."

What I am most excited about: Going to a new city and meeting my teammates.
Coach Harrison: "Throughout the recruiting process, coaches spend a lot of time trying to figure out where we stand with a top recruit, that was not the case with Josephine. It may have been the class project Josephine did on Trinity before she even visited, or the numerous phone calls I received on her behalf. I was nervous before we watched her at camp because I wanted her to be the right player for us after hearing so many great things. That nerve went away quickly when she got right out there and competed like she was already representing Trinity. Thanks to all those who reached out on her behalf cause there is no doubt Josephine will be a great representative of our school, and program. We are excited to have her!"

Why I Chose Trinity: I chose Trinity because it is the right size, it's hot, and I loved the campus when I visited.
What I am most excited about: I am just excited for new experiences on and off the field.
Coach Harrison: "Having spent 5 years coaching, in Tennessee it's great to get a player from an area that I have such fond memories of. Dabney is a center back who works just as hard organizing and reading the game as she does defending. That being said Dabney will let other teams' attackers know it will be a long game with tough tackles and a tremendous work rate. We have some big shoes to fill at CB but one thing is for sure Dabney is always up for a challenge."

Why I Chose Trinity: Trinity is the perfect combination of academic rigor and reputation, campus size, location, and a great soccer program.
What I am most excited about: I love the coaching staff, record of success, training facilities, and everything about Trinity! I am excited to grow as a person and player by being a part of a program and school where I'll be surrounded by people I know will inspire me.
Coach Harrison: "Kyra sent us her video early in the process and not only did she stand out due to her height, she backed it with her play. Kyra is a defender that can and does cover a lot of ground. Her speed allows her to get up and down the field. Kyra will bring a toughness that we also like to see from our outside backs. This toughness was proved when her and Tedi got into a crunching tackle at camp and they both laughed about it. We look forward to seeing that mentality at practice but especially in games next year!"

Coach Harrison: "We sent Reese an email after a DA event and got a great response back. We knew we needed to get her to campus because we were certain she would be a player that fits our program. Reese is an athletic outside back who has the pace and ability to join in the attack. We expect Reese to come in and be ready to compete immediately."
