Women's Tennis drops a road-trip pair at NCAA I Islanders

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Trinity University women's tennis team fell in a pair of 7-0 defeats at NCAA I Texas A&M University-Corpus Chrisiti Sunday.

THE RUNDOWN

In the first matchup of the day the Tigers stole the No. 2 doubles slot from the Islanders at a 7-6 tally with the duo of junior Megan Flores (Houston, Texas) and first-year Catherine Cushing (Colleyville, Texas). Cushing also won the most games in singles play in the fourth line.

The 4 p.m. matchup featured twin seniors Mary Kaffen and Zoe Kaffen (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) notching four games in the second line of doubles after leading off the day in No. 1 action. Zoe led Trinity in singles action with four games won from No. 2 play.

UP NEXT

Trinity Women's Tennis remains idle until it travels to Abilene to face Hardin-Simmons University on February 5. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
