CHICAGO - The Women's Swimming and Diving team traveled to Chicago to compete in the D3 Shootout which is hosted by the University of Chicago. The Tigers were among six other teams competing at the event. U Chicago, Washington University St. Louis, Pomona-Pitzer, St. Catherine University, Swarthmore College and Hope College made up the participating schools. Trinity is currently in fifth place with 153 points after day one.
The women started the meet out by racing to a new school record in the 200 yard medley relay. The grouping of Mabel Fowler (Uvalde, Texas / Uvalde), Jadyn Trahan (League City, Texas / Clear Springs), Caroline Myers (Austin, Texas / Bowie) and Emma Hagan (Overland Park, Kan. / Olathe East) raced to a time of 1:45.83 in the medley relay to take fourth place. Despite taking fourth, the Tigers were just over a second behind the first place finishers of Pomona-Pitzer.
Trahan also set an individual record for Trinity in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.13.
Morgen Reyna (Houston, Texas / Stratford) took fifth place in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.26. Hagan raced to the wall with a time of 24.09 in the 50 yard freestyle to secure third place.
Katarina Partalas (San Antonio, Texas / Reagan) placed third in the one meter dive with a score of 214.75.
Fowler swam to a 57.98 in the 100 yard backstroke to take third place. The senior was just just seconds behind the first place finisher.
Fowler, Hagan, Meghan Magill (Longmont, Colo. / Silver Creek) and Reyna took fourth in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:44.72.

The Tigers will compete in day two of the D3 shootout on Saturday, November 6 then head back home to prepare for the Tiger Invite. Day two of the D3 Shootout will start at 11:30 a.m.
