San Antonio – Trinity's women's tennis team was beaten 7-0 by NCAA Division I United States Air Force Academy in a home match on Saturday.

The Tigers fall to 3-5 overall this season, though all five losses have come against opponents outside of Division III.

The Rundown

Trinity opened with losses in doubles at lines one and three, clinching the doubles point that put Air Force in front 1-0. The doubles duo of Mary Kaffen (San Juan Capistrano, Calif. / Jserra Catholic) and Zoe Kaffen (San Juan Capistrano, Calif. / Jserra Catholic) fought on past the clinch, though, earning a 7-6 (7-4) victory.

Air Force went on to sweep singles in straight sets. Z. Kaffen and Cate Cushing (Colleyville, Texas / Heriatge) were the closest sets on the day, as each lost 6-4 in the second set.

Up Next

The Tigers were scheduled to resume Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action tomorrow at the University of St. Thomas, but that match has been postponed. Trinity's next opponent will be East Texas Baptist University on Saturday, March 20, at 2:00 p.m. The Tigers will face off against the University of Texas @ Dallas at noon the next day to complete the road trip.
