Box Score Lawrenceville, Ga. – Trinity's women's tennis team featured four players selected to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Tournament team.
The Tigers were runners-up in the tournament, snapping a streak of eight consecutive SCAC titles. Trinity was edged by Southwestern University 5-4 in the conference final.
First-year Cate Cushing (Colleyville, Texas / Heritage) was the only Tiger player to receive the distinction in both singles and doubles. Seniors Mary Kaffen (San Juan Capistrano, Calif. / Jserra Prep) and Zoe Kaffen (San Juan Capistrano, Calif. / Jserra Prep) were both honored in singles, while junior Megan Flores (Houston, Texas / Clear Lake) made the team in doubles.
Cushing and Flores were the only Trinity team to finish 2-0 at the tournament, winning in both the semifinals and the finals from the #1 doubles line. Cushing was also honored for going undefeated at line two singles. Flores is now a two-time honoree for doubles, after also winning the honor in 2019.
Zoe has now won All-Tournament honors in singles for four consecutive championships and was also a three-time doubles honoree from 2017-19. Mary was the only player in the tournament to go 2-0 in singles over the weekend, earning her first singles All-Tournament honor. She teamed up with twin sister Zoe for three straight All-Tournament honors in doubles.
Trinity is led by Head Coach Andrew Cohn, who is in his first season at the helm of the program. The Tigers are awaiting a possible at-large bid to the NCAA Playoffs, and the selections for the 2021 tournament will be announced on Monday, May 10.
