Trinity Softball Releases Loaded 2023 Schedule

Six teams from the final NFCA national rankings from 2022 will be on the 2023 slate for the Tigers, representing 12 of 40 regular-season contests and nine of 19 non-conference games.

SAN ANTONIO – The 2023 Trinity University Softball schedule was announced Friday, featuring a 40-game slate that opens with 10-straight on the road beginning February 10, 2023 with a weekend visit to Abilene, Texas. The 2023 home schedule begins February 26 in a Sunday doubleheader with Babson College (MA).

Outside of the 21-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule, the Tigers will face six teams that finished 2022 ranked in the top-25 nationally by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, five that earned a berth into the 2022 NCAA III Softball Championship and four conference champions from around NCAA III last season.

The season-opening road stretch features two of the top programs from the American Southwest Conference last season, No. 15 East Texas Baptist University (33-12, 24-6 ASC in 2022) and No. 18 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (32-11, 24-6 ASC), for back-to-back Saturday doubleheaders February 18 and 25, respectively.

The home-opener with last season's regular-season New England Men's and Women's Athletic Conference Champion, Babson (38-10, 16-2 NEWMAC) kicks off six straight at the newly-renovated Trinity Softball Field on February 26, followed by doubleheaders with Hanover College (IN) and reigning USA South Champion No. 20 Piedmont University (GA).

Six-straight on the road opens SCAC action on March 17, with visits to Southwestern University and Schreiner University. The 21-game league slate is broken up by the final three non-conference matchups, highlighted by a Thursday-night one-off against North Coast Athletic Conference Champion No. 22 DePauw University (IN).

The second-to-last home weekend for the Tigers will pit Trinity against the reigning SCAC champs, No. 3 Texas Lutheran University, fresh-off another appearance in the NCAA III Women's College World Series.

The 2023 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Championship will be hosted in San Antonio May 5-7.
