No. 13 Women's Tennis Drops Road Match at No. 29 UT-Dallas

RICHARDSON, Texas - No. 13 Trinity University Women's Tennis fell on a late-decision 5-4 tally at No. 29 University of Texas-Dallas Sunday afternoon in its final road dual match of the 2022 regular season.

The Tigers (12-8) were unable to overcome a deficit from doubles play despite a strong 7-2 tiebreak tally in line one from Megan Flores (Houston, Texas / Clear Lake) and Cate Cushing (Colleyville, Texas / Colleyville) that prevented an early-session sweep for the Comets.

Flores was also the first to log a victory in singles as her 6-4, 6-1 performance drew the match even at 2-2. Ruth Hill (Abilene, Texas / Abilene) bounced back from the 7-5 tiebreak setback in line-two doubles to give Trinity a 3-2 advantage, 6-3, 6-2 in line three.

Elodie Richard (Allen, Texas / Allen) was in position for a straight-sets victory of her own, but by the time her 6-4, 6-2 victory was concluded, the Tigers had already missed the chance at a clinch.

No. 13 Trinity Women's Tennis hosts NCAA II Dallas Baptist University Friday at 4 p.m. for exhibition competition. Senior Day festivities are planned for the final home contest of the 2022 regular season.

Select Tigers will take part in the Ojai Tournament in Ojai, California the following weekend prior to the 2022 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament, hosted by Schreiner University, in Kerrville, Texas April 29-May 1.
