SAN ANTONIO - Seniors Brianna Pena (La Porte, Texas / La Porte), Sammie Whitman (Austin, Texas / Lake Travis), Kristina Kish (Tucson, Ariz. / Canyon Del Oro), Jenna Kash (Flower Mound, Texas / Flower Mound), and Cat Patterson (West Columbia, Texas / Brazosport Christian)were recognized after the conclusion of today's game. 

The Tigers dropped the last game of the series to the University of St. Thomas by a score of 5-1 and fall to (18-18, 13-5 SCAC). Pena scored the lone run of the day for Trinity in the second inning to tie the game 1-1. St. Thomas then scored four unanswered runs to take the third game of the series. 

The Rundown

The Celts struck first with a run in the top of the first inning. With two outs in the bottom of the first, Jessica Lloyd (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. / Trabuco Hills) singled down the right field line but was left stranded. 

Pena opened up the bottom of the second inning with a single through the left side. Jordyn Williams (Clayton, Calif. / Clayton Valley) laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Pena to second with one out. Alexa Saucedo (Harlingen, Texas / Harlingen) was then hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second. Kash later came up with two outs and reached on a throwing error by the pitcher to score Pena. 

UST homered in the top of the third to take a 3-1 lead while the Tigers were retired in order in the bottom half of the inning. 

St. Thomas added another run in the fifth and sixth to extend their lead to 5-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Kash reached on an error with two outs but was unable to score. 

On Deck

The Tigers will host Our Lady of the Lake University on April 20th for the final home game of the season. Trinity will then hit the road for their final three-game series of the season against Texas Lutheran University.
