Box Score IRVING, Texas - The Tigers extend their current win streak to four games and improve to (14-16, 9-3 SCAC) after trouncing the University of Dallas 10-1 in six innings. Trinity scored seven runs in the sixth inning to ultimately pull away from the Crusaders.
First-year Alexa Saucedo (Harlingen, Texas / Harlingen) had a big day at the plate for the Tigers, the shortstop was a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored, and two RBI. First-year Leah Gonzalez (San Antonio, Texas / East Central) went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs batted in.
Senior pitcher Cat Patterson (West Columbia, Texas / Brazosport Christian) earned her third win of the weekend. The West Columbia native only gave up one run on three hits and struck four batters out looking.
The Rundown
First-year Jessica Lloyd (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. / Trabuco Hills) led the game off with a single but the next three batters were retired in order. Saucedo ripped a double to left field and later advanced to third on a wild pitch in the top f the second inning. Gonzalez then singled to bring in Saucedo and give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
Patterson gave up her first hit of the game in the second inning and managed to strand the runners after forcing a ground ball and two pop-ups. Sophomores Jordyn Williams (Clayton, Calif. / Clayton Valley) and Dawson Dabboussi (Dallas, Texas / Highland Park) drew back-to-back walks to lead off the top of the third inning. Senior Jenna Kash (Flower Mound, Texas / Flower Mound) was called to pinch run for Williams and eventually scored on a Saucedo single to put the Tigers up 2-0.
With two outs in the top of the fourth, Lloyd worked a walk. Senior Madison Horn (Schertz, Texas / Clemens) pinch-ran for Lloyd and stole second but was left stranded.
With two outs in the top of the fifth frame, first-year Sydney Watson (San Antonio, Texas / San Antonio Christian) doubled down the left field line. Saucedo then followed with a double of her own to bring in her second run of the day and put Trinity up 3-0.
The Crusaders scored their first run of the day in the bottom of the fifth inning after Patterson gave up a walk and a single. The Tigers were able to escape without any further damage thanks to a 6-4-3 double play.
Gonzalez led the sixth inning off with a single to center field. Sophomore Diamond Elizondo (San Antonio, Texas / Stevens) entered the game to pinch-run. Whitman then reached first after executing a sacrifice bunt where the Crusader first baseman made an error. Whitman then stole second base. Senior Brianna Pena (La Porte, Texas / La Porte) later singled to bring in two runners and extend the TU lead to 5-1. Sophomore Jordyn Williams (Clayton, Calif. / Clayton Valley Charter) singled through the left side to put runners on the corners. First-year Maliena Carelli (Kirkland, Wash. / Lake Washington) came in to pinch-hit and singled to plate another runner and make the score 6-1. Saucedo followed by working a walk to load the bases with two outs. Pinch-hitter Lanie Smith (Foxfield, Colo. / Regis Jesuit) then reached first on an error to plate another two runs. Elizondo, Gonzalez, and Whitman followed with back-to-back-to-back RBI singles to make the score 10-1 and cap off the seven-run sixth inning.

The Tigers will begin their final homestand of the season, starting next Friday with a three-game series against Austin College. The Tigers will also play a three-game series with St. Thomas and host a midweek nonconference game with Our Lady of the Lake.
