No. 10 Tiger Women's Basketball Rolls The Dice In Vegas For A Pair Of Non-Conference Games

No. 10 Tiger Women's Basketball heads where the desert meets the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada to compete in the D3hoops.com classic.

The Tigers (8-3) dropped a pair of games in Washington against Willamette and Puget Sound. The Tigers fought hard but ultimately fell to both teams. On the bright side, Josie Napoli (Beaverton, Oregon / Valley Catholic) dropped 35 points on the two matches and freshman Jamie Ruede (Pipe Creek, Texas / Boerne) set a new career-high in points against Puget Sound with 27. The Tigers also forced 39 total turnovers.

Preview - Viva Las Vegas

When in Vegas, the Tigers will play against Ohio Northern University on Thursday, December 28th at 12:00 PM (PT), and then Framingham State on Friday, December 29th at 10:00 AM (PT).

On the Ohio Northern Polar Bears: The Polar Bears are 5-3 so far this season. The Polar Bears have claimed victory in their last four games. The Polar Bears are a low-scoring team, however, only scoring 70 points on one occasion this season. In their most recent game against No. 22 Marietta, the Polar Bears defeated the Pioneers 48-41. The Polar Bears are heavily led by fifth-year guard Brynn Serbin. Serbin is the only Polar Bear averaging double-digit points per game this season with 14.1. As a team, the Polar Bears have really struggled from behind the three-point line as they are only shooting 22.9 percent from deep. Look for the Tigers to drop into a zone to force the Polar Bears to beat them with their shooting. The Tigers and Polar Bears will be matching up for the first time in their storied histories.

On the Framingham State Rams: The Rams are undefeated with a 10-0 this season. Of their 10 wins this season, six of them have been won by more than 10 points. The Rams decimated their most recent matchup against Curry, winning 97-56. The Rams are shooting it well from the field, shooting 45 percent so far. The Rams are led by senior forwards Flannery O'Connor who is averaging 16.7 points per game this season on 50 percent shooting from the field. The Rams have three other players that average more than 10 points per game this season. The Rams will be looking to force the ball inside for higher percentage shots near the basket as they are only averaging 4 three-pointers made per game. This will also be the first time that the Rams and Tigers will have played against each other.

Looking Ahead - Back To The (Cal)Gaarden

The Tigers will get back into conference play when they play against Schreiner University on Tuesday, January 2nd.
