GREENSBORO, N.C. – Trinity University junior
Michael Kohl (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) of No. 20 Men's Swimming & Diving had a hand in two All-American performances at the 2023 NCAA III Championships Thursday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Kohl took home the 16
th spot in the 100 yard butterfly in 48.47 seconds, less than a second away from his school-record mark from the Tiger Invitational, for the first second-team performance of the night for the Tiger men.

Matteo Lanzara (Moraga, Calif. / Campolindo) and
Nathaniel Early (Austin, Texas / Westwood) and sophomore
Kendal Southwell (Rio Rancho, N.M. / Calvert Online) finished 14
th in 3:19.52 for a show of consistency as the morning's prelim netted a 3:19.56.
Lanzara's split in the event as the backstroke leg checked in at 49.67, which drove the senior up the all-time top-ten list at Trinity as he finishes second on the list.

Caleb Manifold (Helotes, Texas) came within two tenths of a second of claiming a third second-team performance Thursday morning as the quartet finished 17
th in the event's trial in 1:22.18.
Between the morning relays, Early clocked in at 1:40.70 in the 200 freestyle for 29
th in the national meet.

"We had some good splits across the relays the men swam today," Head Coach
Cathleen Pruden said. "I'm really happy to see Matt take advantage of the opportunity to race tonight. He swam his last-ever 100 back in lifetime-best fashion and moved up to number two in Trinity history."
"Most of our men have a rest day tomorrow and we'll use it to reset and get ready for Saturday!"

Friday's action will feature just one individual event and one relay for the Tigers. Southwell will compete in the 100 breaststroke for the first of his two individual events. He posted a time of 55.76 seconds this season and will be one of 32 individuals competing for a spot in the finals. Southwell is back for the 200 breaststroke Saturday, after posting a season-best time of 2:01.25 for the Tigers.
Kohl and Manifold open up the final day's action with the 100 freestyle event for the Tigers, marking the third individual events for both Trinity swimmers.
The 400 free relay will close out the four-day meet and Trinity qualified for nationals with the 13th-ranked time of 3:00.56. Tiger swimmers Lanzara, Early, Kohl, and Manifold will compete in the final event of the weekend.
