GEORGETOWN, Texas – Trinity University Softball fell, 6-0, at Southwestern University Friday night in the first game of its three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference-opening series at Taylor Sanders Field.
Six different Tigers (2-15) got on base in the outing, led by sophomore second baseman
Alexa Saucedo (Harlingen, Texas / Harlingen) who went two-for-three from the plate, adding a stolen base. Sophomore designated player
Jessie Lloyd (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. / Trabuco Hills) also reached twice including the first hit of the game from her lead-off spot on the lineup card.

Lanie Smith (Foxfield, Colo. / Regis Jesuit) picked up her fourth relief appearance in the circle for the season, adding four shutout innings and just two baserunners to three strikeouts. Through seven-and-a-third on the rubber this season, Smith has a 0.95 earned-run average.
Trinity Softball returns to Taylor Sanders Field tomorrow for a double dose with the Pirates. Saturday's first game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. first pitch.
