INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Trinity University men's cross country runner
Will Salony (Dallas, Texas / JJ Pearce) has officially qualified for the NCAA Championships, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday.
Salony will compete at nationals for the third consecutive year in cross country, while also qualifying for the NCAA Track & Field Championships – Indoor and Outdoor – last season. He earned Second Team All-America honors in the Indoor Mile and finished 19th in the Outdoor 1500-meter run. As for the Cross Country Championships, Salony has produced two of the top five finishes in the history of the Tiger men's program in his first two trips to nationals – including a 58th-place finish in 2023 that is the best in school history.
Over his career in both cross country and track & field at Trinity, Salony has earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region honors six times – including each of the past three seasons in cross country. He is also a 10-time All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference performer, earning his fourth such cross country performance to lead Trinity to second place at this year's SCAC Championships.
The 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships will be held at the Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana, and is hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (IN) on Saturday, November 23. The men's race will follow the women's and will begin at 12:00 p.m. (ET).
