TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Trinity men's cross country standout
Will Salony (Dallas, Texas / JJ Pearce) completed the 2024 season by competing at the NCAA Championships on Saturday morning.
Salony competed at nationals for the third straight year, finishing 64th in this year's event with a time of 24:58.6 to eclipse last year's time, and improve on his time at the NCAA Championships each season. His 64th place finish is the second-best in school history, trailing only his 58th-place finish at last year's NCAA Championships.
Last year, Salony followed his performance during the fall cross country season with a stellar winter and spring in track & field. He earned Second Team All-American honors in the Indoor Mile, then finished 19th in the 1500-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Over his career in both cross country and track & field at Trinity, Salony has earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region honors six times – including each of the past three seasons in cross country. He is also a 10-time All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference performer, earning his fourth such cross country performance to lead Trinity to second place at this year's SCAC Championships.
