BOSTON/HOUSTON – Trinity University men's track & field student-athletes
Azariah Anderson (St. Charles, Mo. / Francis Howell North) and
Will Salony (Dallas, Texas / JJ Pearce) represented the Tiger team in a pair of races over the weekend.
Both competitors were hoping to improve their chances to qualify for the NCAA III Indoor National Championships, held March 8-9 in Virginia Beach, Va. In the finals, he ran 8.35 and finished seventh overall. Anderson's prelim time of 8.17 is tied with two other runners for the 18th-fastest in Division III this season (following Friday's results).
Salony competed at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday evening in Boston, Mass. He posted a career-best 4:07.95 in the Mile run, which is the 13th-fastest in Division III this season entering this weekend.
The entirety of the Tiger men's and women's track & field teams will return to action on March 1-2 at the annual Trinity Invitational that will kick off the outdoor season. The winter indoor track & field season concludes at the NCAA Championships the following weekend.
