CLEVELAND – The Trinity University men's and women's track & field teams began their part of the 2025 NCAA III Championships with five Tigers competing in two events, highlighted by an All-American performance in the women's long jump by first-year sensation
Annabelle Lanik (Sugar Land, Texas / St. John's).
In addition to Lanik, Trinity men's team members
Legend Grigsby (Houston, Texas / Cypress Creek),
Nicolas Ladreyt (Santa Monica, Calif. / Harvard-Westlake School),
Orie Piken (Torrance, Calif. / West Torrance), and
Price Schultea (Cypress, Texas / Cypress Christian) all raced in the men's 4x100-meter relay. The team finished in 41.38 seconds to earn 13th place overall, missing Second Team All-America honors by a mere 0.20 seconds.
Lanik broke her own school record with a jump of 5.99 meters on her second attempt in the long jump, finishing third overall among 22 competitors. She was first among the four first-years in the field, settling in behind two senior athletes. Lanik broke the previous Tiger record three times this season prior to today. She jumped 5.77 meters and was in fourth place after the first round of the competition, then held third place the rest of the way after marking her record-breaking jump in round two. The third-place finish makes Lanik a First Team All-American and is the highest finish in school history in the long jump. Lanik is also just the second athlete in Trinity women's track & field history to earn All-American recognition in the long jump.
