No. 14 Tiger Women's Tennis Looks To Stay Hot Against A Pair Of ASC Opponents

TO READ THE FULL PREVIEW, CLICK ON THE "TIGER WOMEN'S TENNIS VS CONCORDIA AND HARDIN-SIMMONS" LINK.

No. 14 Tiger Women's Tennis is at the Butch to take on a pair of ASC opponents in Concordia and Hardin-Simmons.

The Tigers (2-0) stay hot after picking up a 6-3 win over San Antonio rival Our Lady of the Lake. The Tiger doubles teams put it on the Saints early by sweeping all three matches and then Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Ponderosa), Trinity Levy (Camarillo, California / Weil Tennis Academy), and Ruth Hill (Abilene, Texas / Abilene) put OLLU away in heroic fashion. These early matches against out-of-division opponents will aid the Tigers in identifying their shortcomings before they hit the meat of the Division III part of their schedule.

Preview - Facing The ASC

Trinity will take on Concordia first on Friday, February 16th at 4:00 PM, and then take on Hardin-Simmons on Saturday, February 17th at 10:00 AM.

On the Concordia Tornadoes: Concordia is 1-0 so far in the young season. The Tornadoes crushed ASC rival Howard Payne 8-1. Although Concordia dropped the #1 doubles match, the rest of them were not close. The Tornadoes are coming off of a very competitive 13-5 2023 spring season but did not hold up well against ranked opponents. In last year's match, the Tigers wrecked Concordia 9-0 and swept two of the matches in that competition.

On the Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls: The 2023 ASC runner-up has a 0-2 to start their 2024 season. However, the Cowgirls have faced two NCAA II schools in Angelo State and UT-Permian Basin. Although the effectiveness of these tough opponents is questionable, as the Cowgirls were decimated in both matches. The Tigers are 14-0 against HSU since 2010 and have not lost more than one match since 2010.

Looking Ahead - Tennis Palooza

The Tigers will play against Schreiner University on Saturday, March 9th. This match will be the start of six matches in seven days.
