SAN MARCOS, Texas – Trinity's men's and women's track & field teams finished off the weekend with the final day of competition at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Texas State University.
The Tigers had men's and women's teams compete in the 4x100-meter relay, had a men's runner in the 400-meter dash and the 110-meter hurdles, and had a women's athlete in the triple jump.
The women's 4x100 relay team of
Yasmin Subawalla (Houston, Texas / Singapore American School),
CC Gray (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Notre Dame Prep),
Joy Areola (Tomball, Texas / Rosehill Christian School), and
Hayley Huck (Prosper, Texas / Prosper) finished in 49.04 seconds for a top-30 time in Division III this season. That performance also puts the Tiger runners in the top 10 all-time at Trinity. Areola also reached 11.55 meters in the triple jump, finishing in the top 25 among Division I competition.
The men's relay team ran in 42.61 seconds and finished just outside of the Tiger top 10. Running for the Tigers were
Legend Grigsby (Houston, Texas / Cypress Creek),
Orie Piken (Torrance, Calif. / West Torrance),
Brian Rainey (Cedar Hill, Texas / Cedar Hill), and
Azariah Anderson (Saint Charles, Mo. / Francis Howell North). Anderson also ran in the 110 hurdles, finishing 12th in today's race with a time of 14.30 seconds that is the second-fastest of his career.
Price Schultea (Cypress, Texas / Cypress Christian) remained fourth in school history in the 400-meter dash after racing to a new personal-record time of 48.63 seconds.
