No. 14 Tiger Women's Tennis Celebrates Spring Break At The Butch

No. 14 Tiger Women's Tennis restrings for a long spring break with six matches in seven days. 
 
The Tigers (5-0) come off another dominant win over the University of Texas-Dallas. Trinity balled out in their wins, only taking two matches into an extra set. The duo of Ruth Hill (Abilene, Texas / Abilene) and Olivia Kim (Phoenix, Arizona / Desert Mountain) notched another win in their belt with an 8-5 win. Ellie Hughes (Austin, Texas / Vandergrift) would put the match on ice as she won the final singles match of the afternoon with a three-set win on the number two court.
 
SCAC Doubles Team of the Week - Cate Cushing and Trinity Levy
 
For the first time this season, the duo of Cate Cushing (Colleyville, Texas / Heritage) and Trinity Levy (Camarillo, California / Weil Tennis Academy) have been selected as the SCAC Doubles Team of the Week.
 
From the SCAC Press Release:
 
Cushing, a senior from Colleyville, Texas, and Levy, a sophomore from Camarillo, Calif., earned an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles to ensure No. 14 Trinity would be in the lead heading into singles play against UT-Dallas on Sunday. The Tigers would eventually pull away for the 7-2 victory on Sunday.
 
Preview - Spring Break At The Butch
 
The Tigers will start on Saturday, March 9th against Schreiner University and finish on Saturday, March 16th against Wesleyan (CT).

At Schreiner on March 9th at 10:00 AM
 
Vs No. 17 Case Western on March 10th at 2:00 PM
 
Vs No. 2 Chicago on March 11th at 10:00 AM
 
Vs No. 30 Skidmore on March 13th at 11:00 AM
 
Vs No. 23 Swarthmore on March 14th at 11:00 AM
 
Vs No. 5 Wesleyan (CT) on March 16th at 11:00 AM
 
Scouting the Competition: The Tigers will enter the gauntlet this upcoming week as five of their six opponents are ranked by the International Tennis Association (ITA). The University of Chicago holds the number one ranked singles player and doubles team so far this season. The Tigers will also face two more top-10 singles players and one more top-10 doubles team along the way. The ranked teams combine for an overall 16-2 record. This will be a great test for the depth and competitiveness of these Tiger women.
 
Looking Ahead 
 
The Tigers will close out the month of March against Wash U (MO) on March 29th.
