Trinity University Softball heads into their final regular season series against Centenary College.
 
The Tigers (26-11, 14-4 SCAC) went 1-2 against nationally ranked Texas Lutheran. TU dropped the first two games but stole game three by a score of 5-4. Although they lost the series, there were bright spots.  Hannah Boudreaux (Pearland, Texas / Shadow Creek) continued her hot freshman season by going .555 (5-9) with three RBIs and a home run. Josephine Koelewyn (Reno, Nevada / Academy of Arts Careers and Technology) went 11 innings in the circle and finished the weekend with a 1.90 ERA. Trinity now sits at third in the SCAC rankings, sitting one win behind second-place St. Thomas. 
 
Preview - Final Regular Season Series
 
The Tigers will travel to Centenary to take on the Ladies. The series will feature a doubleheader on Saturday, April 27th at noon and 2:00 PM. The final game will be played on Sunday, April 28th at noon. 
 
On the Centenary Ladies: Centenary is 13-22 (8-10) heading into the final series of the year. The Ladies were consistent early but have 1-8 in their last nine games, including being swept by Texas Lutheran and St. Thomas. Offensively, Centenary does have sneaky sticks as senior Mackenzie Cox is batting .473 this season. The Lady lineup also has four other players batting over .300. CC also has some good arms as the top arm sports a 2.54 ERA. However, the struggles for Centenary come from the back end of the rotation and defense. Starter three for Centenary holds a 7.95 ERA and the defense is fielding .955 as a team. If the Tigers can put pressure on the defense, they may be able to take an extra 60 feet. All time, Trinity is 28-15 against the Ladies.

The Tigers will compete in the SCAC championships in Seguin on May 3rd-5th.
