No. 11 Tiger Women's Tennis is on the hunt for their 26th overall Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship this weekend.
The Tigers (13-4) are fresh off the heels of two wins over conference opponents. Trinity outscored Southwestern and Colorado 12-3 and picked up a few dominant wins in both singles and doubles.
Ellie Hughes (Austin, Texas / Vandergrift) and
Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Ponderosa) won both doubles matches by a score of 8-1. Andrade also won both her singles matches by a combined score of 24 sets to 8.

Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Ponderosa) have been elected as the SCAC Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week.
From the SCAC Press Release: Hughes and Andrade went undefeated as the 14th-ranked Tiger women's tennis defeated both Southwestern and Colorado College to close out the regular season schedule. Andrade and Hughes won 8-1 at line three against Southwestern, then came back later that night and won 8-1 again at line two in the win over Colorado College.
SCAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week - Rebecca Stepleman
For the first time this season, sophomore
Rebecca Stepleman (Atlanta, Georgia / Georgia Connections Academy) has been selected as the SCAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week.
From the SCAC Press Release: Stepleman led the 14th-ranked Tiger women's tennis to a pair of SCAC wins over the weekend, closing out the regular season by defeating Southwestern and Colorado College. Stepleman clinched a 5-1 win over Southwestern on Friday afternoon, winning 6-3, 6-3 at line five singles. She came back later that night with a 6-3, 6-4 win at #5 singles in the win over Colorado College.
Preview - SCAC Championships
As the No. 1 overall seed, the Tigers have secured a bye and will play the winner of St. Thomas versus Schreiner on Saturday, April 27th at 9:00 AM. (Schedule subject to change due to weather.)
Scouting the competition: Both Schriener and St. Thomas hold records of .500 or less, Schriener being at 7-9 and St. Thomas being at 5-5. St. Thomas defeated Schreiner last weekend 8-1 and were dominant in most matches. Both teams can be competitive and cause problems but they have also struggled against higher-level opponents. The Tigers swept Schreiner in March and swept St. Thomas in last year's matchup. Against both teams, the Tigers have a combined record of 16-0.
