ROME, Ga. – The 11th-ranked Tiger women's tennis team fell short in the first round of the singles tournament at the ITA Cup but did advance to the Quarterfinals in doubles action on Thursday.
Sophomore
Lucy Nabedrick (Plymouth, Minn. / Wayzata) won the opening set 6-4 in her first-round matchup against Jane Ling Chun Wong of Carnegie Mellon University (PA), but then lost the next two by scores of 6-3 and 6-2 to fall out of the main draw of the tournament.
The Trinity doubles team of senior
Trinity Levy (Camarillo, Calif. / Weil Tennis Academy) and junior
Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Ponderosa) opened their day with a 6-2 opening-set win against Nicole Ridenour and Anushka Jaiswal of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NY), then saw their opponents battle back with a 6-4 win in the second to force a super tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, Levy and Andrade were able to take a 10-6 victory to advance to the Quarterfinals.
All three Tigers reached this week's ITA Cup by winning the ITA Southwest Regional Championships and clinching both All-American status and a spot in the national tournament.

Levy and Andrade will take on Elina Shalaev and Greta Nagy from Occidental College (CA) at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The winners move on to Saturday's Semifinals, which are scheduled to take place at 3:30 p.m. Nabedrick will continue in the Singles Consolations and will play Victoria Wang of New York University on Friday at 9:00 a.m.
