LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its 2025 All-America honorees, which included Trinity Tigers
Reagan Whatley (The Woodlands, Texas / The Woodlands) and
Courtney Pope (New Braunfels, Texas / Canyon).
The Trinity standouts were recently named to the AVCA All-Region First Team and both were also recognized on the All-Southern Athletic Association First Team. Trinity won the SAA Regular Season Championship in its first year in the league, finishing as the runner-up at the SAA Tournament.
Whatley was voted to the All-America First Team for the first time in her career. In addition to the All-SAA selection, she was also the SAA Offensive Athlete of the Year. Whatley leads Trinity with 343 kills (3.43/set) and is second on the team with 307 digs (3.07). She has been named the SAA Offensive Player of the Week twice this season, while also Tournament MVP honors twice – including at the NCA Cambridge Regional.
Pope picked up Honorable Mention All-America accolades for the second consecutive season. She received All-Tournament recognition at the Captains Classic earlier this year and at the SAA Tournament. Pope is second on the team with 250 kills (2.48/set) this season, while also recording 71 blocks (0.70/set), and posting a team-leading .311 hitting percentage.
The Tiger volleyball team is preparing for its fifth appearance in the last six years at the NCAA Championships, having won the NCAA Cambridge Regional hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology last weekend. Led by Head Coach
