The No. 5 Trinity University men's soccer team placed five players on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region X First Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
These Tigers, who captured the SAA Regular Season title in their first year in the conference, have powered the program back to the Final Four for the first time since 2007 and enter the week with a 19-1-1 record. Trinity, seeking its first national title since 2003, travels to Salem, Virginia to face Emory University in the NCAA semifinals at 6:30 p.m. (ET) on Friday, December 5.
Seniors
Adam Knutson (Dripping Springs, Texas / Dripping Springs),
Zach Anderson (Davis, California / Davis), and
Luke Chandler (Glasgow, Scotland / Balfron) were joined by junior
Samuel Theiss (Boerne, Texas / Boerne) and sophomore
Daniel Urquidi (Round Rock, Texas / Round Rock) on this year's All-Region First Team. This is Knutson's second time earning the honor, while Anderson, Theiss, and Urquidi received United Soccer Coaches recognition for the first time in their careers.
Knutson was also a First Team All-Region selection in 2024 and secured his fourth All-Conference honor this season, including his third appearance on the First Team. He was named the SAA Offensive Athlete of the Year after producing eight goals and five assists, with six of those goals standing as game-winners.
Theiss is the Tigers' leading goalscorer this season with 15 goals this year, adding two assists for 32 points and earning All-Region accolades for the first time in his career. Theiss also holds an impressive 50.8% shot on goal conversion. This accolade follows up his 2025 All-SAA First Team honors.
Anderson has been a constant presence in midfield this season, starting all 21 matches and logging more than 1,400 minutes. He improved on his 2024 All-SCAC Honorable Mention by earning 2025 All-SAA First Team honors, backed by a campaign in which he recorded three goals and one assist.
Chandler and Urquidi have anchored the Tigers' back line all season and were rightfully rewarded with All-Region recognition. Together, they have led a defense that has produced 11 clean sheets while allowing just 12 goals. Chandler, who earned the week 2 SAA Defensive Player of the Week and 2025 All-SAA First Team honors, has added two goals and three assists, along with a 70.4% defensive duel win rate and a 61% aerial duel win rate. Urquidi has logged the most minutes of any outfield player, starting all 21 matches, contributing two assists, and posting an outstanding 84.3% defensive duel win rate. His performances earned him a 2025 All-SAA Honorable Mention.
