Trinity Women's Soccer Features Five All-Region Honorees

The Trinity University women's soccer team had five players earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region X honors following the 2025 season.

Seniors Ilsa Newland (St. Louis, Missouri / Kirkwood) and Bri Werner (Woodbine, Maryland / Glendale) earned First Team All-Region X honors, while senior Hanna Khan (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) and sophomore Alex Doran (Boerne, Texas / Geneva School of Boerne) were selected to the Second Team. Sophomore Kylie Harris (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) rounded out Trinity's honorees with a Third Team All-Region selection. This marks the second All-Region recognition for both Werner and Harris, who were First Team selections in 2024, while Newland, Khan, and Doran earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors for the first time in their careers.

Werner followed her 2024 All-SCAC First Team and All-Region First Team campaign with another standout season, earning All-SAA First Team honors along with a Second straight First Team All-Region selection. She started all 20 matches and finished tied for second on the team with eight goals, adding seven assists for 23 total points. Werner also recorded two game-winning goals and posted a .485 shots-on-goal percentage on 68 attempts. After transferring to Trinity for her final two years of college soccer, she concluded her Tigers career with an impressive 16 goals and 13 assists across 43 matches.

Newland was named the 2025 SAA Defensive Player of the Year after anchoring a Trinity back line that once again ranked among the nation's best. She added First Team All-SAA and First Team All-Region honors to a career already highlighted by two All-SCAC First Team selections, a SCAC Tournament Defensive MVP award, and multiple Defensive Player of the Week recognitions in both conferences. Newland started all 20 matches this season, led the team with 1,662 minutes, and contributed five goals and two game-winners from the back. A senior in her final campaign, she concludes her Trinity career with five goals and five assists across 74 matches as one of the program's most accomplished defenders.

Khan earned a spot on the All-Region Second Team after another outstanding season for the Tigers. She started all 20 matches and finished tied for second on the team with eight goals, adding six assists for 22 total points. A two-time All-SCAC First Team honoree and the 2022 SCAC Freshman of the Year, she also earned SCAC All-Freshman Team honors and twice received SCAC Offensive Player of the Week recognition. This All-Region selection further cements her place as one of Trinity's most consistent attacking players over the last four years. Khan concludes her Trinity career with 33 goals and 16 assists across 85 appearances, including 39 starts.

Doran added a Second Team All-Region honor to a breakout sophomore season in which she was named the 2025 SAA Offensive Athlete of the Year and earned four SAA Offensive Player of the Week awards. She started all 20 matches and led the Tigers in goals with twelve, total points with twenty-nine, and game-winners with six. Her fifty shots and strong shots-on-goal rate of over fifty percent highlighted her efficiency in the final third, while her five assists rounded out one of the conference's most complete attacking campaigns. After an exceptional season, Doran looks poised to build on this momentum over her final two years of collegiate soccer.

Harris followed her standout 2024 freshman campaign with another elite defensive season, earning Third Team All-Region recognition along with an All-SAA Second Team selection. The former SCAC Defensive Player of the Year, SCAC Newcomer of the Year, and All-Region First Team honoree started all 20 matches this season, scoring once and anchoring the back line across more than fifteen hundred minutes. Harris has now appeared in every match of her Trinity career, starting all 43 contests over her first two seasons and establishing herself as one of the program's most reliable young defenders.

The Tigers concluded the season with a 14-2-4 overall record and an undefeated 5-0-2 mark in SAA play. Trinity claimed both the SAA Regular Season Championship and the SAA Tournament title to secure a place in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Second Round before falling 2-1 in overtime to Cal Lutheran University.
