Trinity University Women's Hoops gets a second crack at Texas Lutheran and Southwestern this weekend.
The Tigers (13-8, 9-3 SCAC) split their games last weekend, bouncing back from a narrow 78-71 loss to Texas Lutheran with a 74-68 victory over Southwestern.
Kylie Minter (League City, Texas / Clear Springs) led the Tigers offensively with 42 points, shooting 10-18 from the field and 4-7 from three-point range.
Josie Napoli (Beaverton, Oregon / Valley Catholic) contributed 39 points, while also adding seven assists and eight steals.
Skye O'Rourke (Austin, Texas / Vandegrift) set a new career high with 11 rebounds in the win over Southwestern.
Preview - Final Games In Calgaard
The Tigers will play their final regular season games in Calgaard Gymnasium this weekend. The Tigers will start with a revenge game against Texas Lutheran on Valentine's Day at 5:30 PM. Then, Trinity will take on Southwestern on February 15th for Senior day at 4:00 PM.
On the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs: The Bulldogs now hold a 17-3 overall record (11-1 SCAC) this season. After defeating the Tigers, TLU secured a 79-61 win over Schreiner. In their last matchup, the Bulldogs' fast start propelled them to victory. This time, the Tigers will look to contain top scorer Lauren Sansano, who was absent in the previous game, while also focusing on getting their offense going early. Historically, the Tigers hold a 30-9 all-time record against TLU.
On the Southwestern Pirates: The Pirates now hold a 7-14 overall record (4-8 SCAC) after their weekend split. They opened with a 72-66 victory over Schreiner but fell to the Tigers 74-68 in their next game. In the upcoming matchup, Trinity will focus on slowing down Adrianna McCoy, who scored 21 points in their last meeting, while also working to shut down the Pirates' offense.
Historically, Trinity holds a 52-18 all-time record against Southwestern.
