No. 14 Tiger Women's Tennis heads North to take on Concordia, Austin College, and UMHB.

The Trinity University women's tennis team opened its 2025 spring season with a 7-0 win over Lewis & Clark College (OR) on Saturday at the
Butch Newman Tennis Center. Doubles began with a landslide victory as
Olivia Kim (Phoenix, Ariz. / Desert Mountain) and
Ellie Hughes (Austin, Texas / Vandegrift) won 6-0. The Tiger team of
Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Ponderosa) and
Trinity Levy (Camarillo, Calif. / Weil Tennis Academy) clinched the doubles point with another dominant victory (6-2). Despite the clinch, the final Tiger duo of
Brooke Belitz (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Notre Dame Prep) and
Lucy Nabedrick (Plymouth, Minn. / Wayzata) swept the doubles matches as they won 6-1.

Hughes was the first singles match to finish, disposing of her opponent with two 6-0 sets to put the Tigers in front 2-0. Kim was also done in no time with a 6-1, 6-1 win at line #1. Nabedrick clinched the team victory with another 6-1, 6-1 win. Levy, Andrade and
Allison Vo (Sugar Land, Texas / Elkins) also dominated their games to close out the Tiger win and complete the shutout.

The Tigers will play their first away matches of the spring season against Concordia (TX) and Austin College on Friday, February 7th at 1:00 PM. Then, Trinity will head to Belton to battle UMHB on February 8th at 10:00 AM.Â

On the Concordia Tornadoes: The Tornado duo of Kayla Pena & Isabella Cepeda had a successful opening weekend, winning Doubles Team of the Week after a pair of 6-2 victories against the University of Dallas and Lewis & Clark. In the singles, Valarie Sanchez won Singles Player of the Week after two dominant victories. Last time out, the Tigers defeated Concordia 8-1 in February 2024.Â

On the Austin College Roos: Austin College will travel to Georgetown to face off with the Tigers this Friday in their opening season match of the Spring Season. Last season, the Roos posted a 1-9 overall record and picked up their only win against the University of Dallas 4-3. Last time these two teams faced off was during the spring of 2023, where the Tigers swept Austin College 9-0.

On the Mary Hardin Baylor Crusaders: So far this season, UMHB is 1-0 after picking up a 5-2 victory against Lewis & Clark. Last season, the Crusaders held a solid 14-3 record and were 3-0 in ASC play. Unfortunately, they lost to UT Dallas 5-1 in the ASC championship. The last time that these two teams played was in 2022, where the Tigers defeated UMHB 8-1.

The Tigers will continue to play away from home as they travel East to Virginia next week to play Washington & Lee (VA), Christopher Newport, and Johns Hopkins on February 14, 15th and 16th respectively.
