Eight Trinity Swimmers Earn CSC Academic All-District® Accolades

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Trinity University's swimming and diving teams have proven their excellence beyond the pool, with eight student-athletes earning recognition on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team.

Representing the women's team are sophomore Amy Benson (Newmarket, N.H. / Phillips Exeter Academy), junior Neely Burns (Phoenix, Ariz. / Thunderbird High School), sophomore Julia Carter (Dripping Springs, Texas / Dripping Springs High School), and junior Erica Peterson (Dallas, Texas / Ursuline Academy). The Tiger men's team honorees are sophomores Trace Briones (Houston, Texas / Strake Jesuit College Preparatory), Caleb Del Rosario (San Antonio, Texas / Ronald Reagan High School), and Ryan O'Leary (Austin, Texas / Westlake High School), along with junior William Walker (Houston, Texas / Westside High School).

Walker is now a two-time CSC Academic All-District® Team member after also earning the distinction last year. Briones, Del Rosario, and O'Leary all made the SCAC Honor Roll last year, and O'Leary has also been chosen for the Trinity Dean's List in each of his first three semesters. Walker has also been on the Dean's List three times in his career and has been named to the SCAC Honor Roll twice.

All four Tiger women are College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America All-American honorees with Benson and Burns winning the honors on multiple occasions. Peterson was also a CSCAA Scholar All-American in 2023 and has twice been named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll. Carter was also on the SCAC Honor Roll last year, made the Dean's List last spring, and earned her All-American award at this year's NCAA Championships. Burns makes her second appearance on the CSC Academic All-District® Team and is also a two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American. Benson earned Scholar All-American status from the CSCAA last year, as well as appearing on the SCAC Honor Roll.

The CSC Academic All-District® Team celebrates student-athletes who achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, alongside athletic success and a commitment to academic excellence. Honorees advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America® consideration, with results to be announced later this month.

Trinity University proudly acknowledges the remarkable achievements of these swimmers and divers, exemplifying the balance of academics and athletics.
